Introducing the Soloway Carve Top
This
is probably the most excited I've been about a guitar that we've built
since the first handful seven years ago. It's a reverse image
carve top with both the top and back hollowed out in a mirror
image. There's a block that runs from the back of the bridge to
the front edge of the bridge pickup. Other than that the body is
basically hollow.
We've
been working on this for several months now and we've finally completed
the first of two prototypes (this one has an alder back). It was
incredibly cool to plug it in I had all kinds of theories about
how it was supposed to sound but none of the theories prepared me for
the reality. It's by far the biggest sounding guitar we've ever
built.
There
will be a second prototype completed within a couple weeks (with an ash
back and a Loar Burst finish) and then we're on to the first
production versions. There will be a few internal adjustments for
the production model, but the only visible change will be countersunk
knobs.
The
carve top will be available in both Gosling (25.5") and Swan ("27")
versions, wiht either an alder or swamp ashback and will be available
in all of our standard pickup configurations. The price for the
carve top starts at $2900. Orders can be placed now.
